Hi guys! Ciao a tutti ragazzi! Good to see we're growing in number!
Kraut here. Greetings from beyond the Autobahn. ;)
I was thinking the same thing, because the terminology used in this game has difficulties to translate. I suppose when translating 'jack' into 'höylä' you are thinking "jack of all trades' -> 'jokapaikan höylä', which sounds really silly. In accordance the 'glaive' (polearm) should then be translated into 'hilpari', while 'nano' does not have finnish equivalent because it is a mathematical unit.
Therefore I wouldn't translate the words, but instead change them into finnish pronouncable written format which can easily be conjugated: jakke, klaive, nano.
Cypher is an alteration from word cipher, where 'krypti' is a fine translation.
I like the 'oddity'->'kummo' translation. The world delivers its meaning, while not being actual word with a real meaning.
I have to admit that 'jakke' sounds like a children cartoon character name. however, 'puukko' and 'kalpa' are too different for my taste. I wouldn't still translate those, as real words cause problems, because capital letters are not used in finnish to differentiate nouns other than to a somebody's name, and occupations and similar type categarizations are always written in lower case.
"coinage" are known as 'shins' which could have translation of 'sintti/sintit'. Of course the direct translation refers to a tiny fish, and is phonetically close enough to the original word.
